1. Acceptance
These terms govern your use of Hipzap — the receipt bookkeeping app (the "Service"), which also keeps your membership and loyalty cards. By using the Service you agree to these terms.
If you do not agree, please stop using the Service.
2. What the Service provides
The Service lets you photograph receipts to create categorised expense entries and simple reports, and store your membership and loyalty cards in one place to show their barcode in store.
3. Guest use and your account
You can use Hipzap as a guest without an account. You may optionally bind an email address to create an account, which enables cloud sync across your devices.
- As a guest, your data stays on your device, and if you sign in from the Telegram Mini App, your data is stored in your Telegram cloud storage — not on our servers.
- After you bind an email, your expense records and cards sync to our servers so you can access them from any device.
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
4. Your content and acceptable use
You keep ownership of the receipt images, expense records and card details you add. You agree to use the Service lawfully and only for your own data.
- Do not upload content you have no right to use, or that is unlawful or infringes others’ rights.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or abuse the Service.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter.
- Do not submit photos that are not purchase receipts to receipt scanning.
- There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. We remove content that breaks these terms, and we may suspend or close the account of whoever posted it. If we act against your content or your account and you think we got it wrong, you can appeal by emailing support@hipzap.net — we will review the decision and tell you the outcome.
If non-receipt images are submitted to receipt scanning repeatedly, we apply escalating measures: first a notice, then a temporary pause of AI scanning of about one hour, then about one day. If it still continues after that, we may suspend the account. Manual expense entry stays available throughout, pauses lift automatically, and you can appeal a suspension at support@hipzap.net.
5. Device storage and syncing
Guest data is stored on your device or in Telegram cloud storage. Device storage can be cleared by the platform, and reinstalling or clearing the app may erase local data.
To back up your records and cards and sync them across devices, bind an email address.
6. Automated receipt reading
When you photograph a receipt, the image is sent to a third-party AI service to extract details such as merchant, amount, and date. Extraction is best-effort and may be inaccurate.
Please review and correct extracted results before relying on them. Receipt scanning requires a bound account.
7. Service provided “as is”
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that stored barcodes will scan at every merchant, or that extracted expense data will be error-free.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data caused by clearing device storage, uninstalling the app, or events outside our control.
9. Changes
We may update these terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
10. Contact
Questions about these terms? Email support@hipzap.net.
11. Hipzap Plus and subscriptions
Hipzap Plus is an optional paid subscription. Its title, length and price are shown before you buy, and the price is charged to your app-store account when you confirm.
It renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Manage or cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings — we cannot cancel it for you. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the period you already paid for runs to its end.
12. If you got the app from the Apple App Store
The following also applies to the iOS app, and Apple is not a party to these terms:
- These terms are between you and us only, not with Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content.
- Your licence is a non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for maintenance and support. Apple has no obligation to provide either.
- If the app fails to conform to any warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation; anything else is our responsibility.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing claims about the app — including product liability, legal compliance and consumer-protection claims.
- If a third party claims the app infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
- You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Questions or complaints about the app: CODER TECH LTD., 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom — support@hipzap.net.
- You must comply with any applicable third-party terms when using the app.
- Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
13. Shared groups, reports and complaints
Anything you share into a group — ledgers, entries, comments, names and photos — can be seen by the other members of that group. Treat it as shared with them.
You can report a member or block them from the group member list. Reports go to us, not to the group owner: we review them and act ourselves, which can mean removing content or suspending the account responsible.
If you are unhappy with how we handled a report, a removal, or a suspension, email support@hipzap.net. We will reply within 14 days.
