Terms of Service

Last updated: August 2026

1. Acceptance

These terms govern your use of the Hipzap receipt bookkeeping and card wallet features (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these terms.

If you do not agree, please stop using the Service.

2. What the Service provides

The Service lets you photograph receipts to create categorised expense entries and simple reports, and store your membership and loyalty cards in one place to show their barcode in store.

3. Guest use and your account

You can use the wallet as a guest without an account. You may optionally bind an email address to create an account, which enables cloud sync across your devices.

  • As a guest, your data stays on your device, and if you sign in from the Telegram Mini App, your data is stored in your Telegram cloud storage — not on our servers.
  • After you bind an email, your expense records and cards sync to our servers so you can access them from any device.
  • You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.

4. Your content and acceptable use

You keep ownership of the card details, receipt images, and expense records you add. You agree to use the Service lawfully and only for your own data.

  • Do not upload content you have no right to use, or that is unlawful or infringes others’ rights.
  • Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or abuse the Service.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter.
  • Do not submit photos that are not purchase receipts to receipt scanning.

If non-receipt images are submitted to receipt scanning repeatedly, we apply escalating measures: first a notice, then a temporary pause of AI scanning of about one hour, then about one day. If it still continues after that, we may suspend the account. Manual expense entry stays available throughout, pauses lift automatically, and you can appeal a suspension at support@hipzap.net.

5. Device storage and syncing

Guest data is stored on your device or in Telegram cloud storage. Device storage can be cleared by the platform, and reinstalling or clearing the app may erase local data.

To back up your records and cards and sync them across devices, bind an email address.

6. Automated receipt reading

When you photograph a receipt, the image is sent to a third-party AI service to extract details such as merchant, amount, and date. Extraction is best-effort and may be inaccurate.

Please review and correct extracted results before relying on them. Receipt scanning requires a bound account.

7. Service provided “as is”

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that stored barcodes will scan at every merchant, or that extracted expense data will be error-free.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data caused by clearing device storage, uninstalling the app, or events outside our control.

9. Changes

We may update these terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
